The Oakland Bay Bridge, located in the bay of San Francisco, has one of the longest spans in the world. Here, in this oil painting we see one side from Yerba Buena Island which brings together the East and West spans of this great bridge. Plans for its construction began way back during the California Gold Rush days: Although it was not actually finished until November 1936. Today has two decks and carries more than quarter of a million vehicles across the bay every single day.
