Tamara Lepicka epitomized the style of the twenties: Artistically and personally. She was obsessive with her work and as equally dedicated to her social life. Born Maria Górska in Moscow Tamara Lempicka was in fact of Polish origin. She fled to Paris during the Russian Revolution and began studying art almost immediately. She quickly became renowned among some of the most important socialites there and her work soon became highly sought after. Tamara was vivacious, bohemian and even a little provocative if not scandalous: All the furtive qualities her work captures in a sophisticated way.
