Lamour Au Papillon is a sensitive high quality, hand painted reproduction of William-Adolphe Bouguereau’s original L’Amour au Papillon (Cupid with a Butterfly) created around 1888. Always popular with the high society today the artist’s original oil on canvas art work is part of the private collection of Fred and Sherry Ross. His artistic career was highly successful and highly productive until tastes began to change during the end of the nineteenth century – A time when Impressionism was commanding respect and academic painters such as he were becoming considered somewhat old hat.
