The interpretation of this Canvas Art can go in two different directions. First, we can appreciate it for its aesthetical qualities only, as a beautiful painting of tulips, boldly executed with wide brush strokes and a lovely nuance of red altered by white. It is a sunny picture, with the flowers reflecting the sunlight, stretching up to reach higher.

Another way of perceiving this painting is as an allegory of growing up, hence its name. The tulip is an amazing example of spring-blooming perennial flower that grows from bulbs. It needs all seasons for the different stages of its development. It will bloom in late spring and early summer, usually producing only one flower per stem. It will die off in the fall and meanwhile in the base of the stem, the bulb will form. Inside each bulb there are small leaves and a flower bud. It is a miniature copy of the plant itself, “a baby tulip” that needs the cold and moisture of winter to elongate and grow. In one year, the tulip goes through all the stages of ‘growing up’ and even ‘gives birth’. This wonderful flower can fill your life with joy and belief that tomorrow will be a better day.
