Four Moons has a natural yet somewhat un-natural and eerie feel: Although more mysterious in ambience than chilling. The Four Moons of Jupiter were discovered in 1610 by the famous Italian Astronomer and scientist Galileo Galilee. The largest moons were named Ganymede, Europa and Lo – Apart from the major planets and sun these are among the largest objects in our solar system: The fourth was named Callisto and all are names of concubines of Zeus, ruler of the Greek gods.

Galileo’s discovery of the Four Moons dealt a huge blow upon evolving theories that everything revolves around the earth. There were other celestial bodies in our solar system revolving around a planet other than ours: Namely Jupiter.

Jupiter is a bellowing white cloud of gas encompassed by ammonium hydro-sulphide clouds that give this ‘Gas Planet’ an orange hue: Along with a very earthy tone of green these are the only colors the artist has used to create this set of paintings.

Four Moons is a somewhat symbolic composition that harbors an intriguing myriad of both scientific and humanistic concepts: Two of the most fundamental considerations within art outside of technique.
