This is a hand painted, limited edition reproduction of Salvador Dali’s fantastic composition also titled Enigmatic Elements in the Landscape. The vision is imaginary surreal and dreamlike: All the elements we have come to expect from what we might describe as ‘A Dali’. Enigmatic Elements in the Landscape was originally painted in 1934 (Dali was 27yrs old) in the French Capital of Paris. At the time Dali was living with his long term companion Gala in an apartment on the first floor at number 88, Rue de l’Universite.

The original was completed in the same year the New York Museum of Modern Art added one of his most famous works The Persistence of Memory to their permanent collection: Which was actually three years after it was completed. The impact this work had on the public was phenomenal and no doubt drove Dali to continue developing his surrealist concepts and artistic ideals.

Within those Enigmatic Elements in the Landscape we see Dali sitting at his easel in the foreground. In the background we see Dali as a child wearing a sailor suit and holding a hoop: Beside his is his childhood nurse. Behind Dali and his child nurse are two forms which the artist referred to simply as symbols and defined as "Morphological, sub-coetaneous concretion, symbolic of hierarchies." There are many symbolic elements within the original and this is certainly an oil painting that takes time to decipher: A must for lovers of surreal art.
