The oil painting Classic Landscape echoes the post impressionist landscapes and art works of Cezanne whose explorations into the world of geometric simplicity and observable fact were to inspire some of the most influential modern painters of the twentieth century; beginning with artists Picasso and Braque who would investigate and experiment with those concepts to reflect this multi-faceted world we live upon. 

Picasso and Braque’s compositions became more and more complex, incorporating multiple viewpoints of the same subject.   In this way, Classic Landscapes is homage to those artists who defined one of the most significant milestones within twentieth century art: Therefore, this complex composition can indeed be called a classic. 

Poussin a classic French painter provided much inspiration to many of the landscape Artists who came after him; which would include the legendary Paul Cezanne.  Since the Academie Royale officially' accepted landscape art in 1817 (by creating a prize for that genre) landscape art has been keenly investigated by both artists and collectors alike:  And for good reason.
