Is it Alone at Last or Alone in The End? This
is an ambient three piece canvas art set that will demand attention. Warm
yellows, umbers, yellow and somber black come together to create a solitary
tree somewhere in the middle of nowhere: Ever experienced that feeling? Because
this is what Alone at Last is, a feeling...a sensation...
Without the need to stress its point this oil
painting states it boldly if not even a little blatantly. Initially, the composition makes us feel
quiet: Still. This is largely due to the sombre, natural colors used. Brown
consists of yellow, a color that evokes optimism as well as anxiety. It also
has a proportion of black, which is a serious and secure color: With a tendency
to be a little cold. The yellows of the brown render it softer and shakes off
what could be described as the cold sophistication of black. Thus, this
painting has a somber yet warm and relaxing mood.
We associate brown with nature and earth.
Something which is positive toward us: It nurtures us, providing shelter and
everything else we need to survive. In a modern world it is usual for people to
seek some solitude and yet we do not survive well alone. Without everything we
have around us now we too would stand alone in barren landscape: Ourselves
barren as is this tree. Alone at Last is Food for thought indeed.
